More would have died without USAR

Mercalli Director, Steve Glassey in his other role as a researcher with the Joint Centre for Disaster Researcher was interviewed by Simon Mercep on Morning Report.

Steve provided an overview of the USAR programme's success since its establishment only eight years ago.

In his former role as an Emergency Management Advisor with the Ministry of Civil Defence & Emergency Mangement, Steve held the first full time USAR position being responsible for the development of many aspects of the programme, including National Training, Disaster Dog Programme and Response Team Registration.
